HAYWARD, Calif. – Today, Eikon Therapeutics officially opened its second location in Hayward, expanding the company’s footprint to scale its research and engineering infrastructure. Eikon is a biotechnology company that is transforming the advancement of breakthrough therapeutics through the purposeful integration of engineering and science.
“Opening our third facility marks a significant milestone in our journey to build a leading global biopharma company that is uniquely positioned at the intersection of engineering and science. In addition to expanding our own research programs, we are excited to offer access to our innovative technologies to external researchers for the first time,” said Roger M. Perlmutter, M.D., PhD, Board Chair and CEO of Eikon Therapeutics. “We are grateful for the support from the City of Hayward, and we take great pride in creating highly skilled job opportunities in the Bay Area, which remains a vital innovation hub in the biotechnology industry.”
The 55,000 square foot mixed-use facility will house the one-of-a-kind Eikon User Experience Lab where external researchers may apply to run their own experiments on the company’s proprietary platform, leveraging high-resolution microscopy to view protein action in living cells in real time. It will also support laboratories to further expand Eikon’s cell line engineering, compound purification for medicinal chemistry, protein production, and biological research.

Over the past year, Eikon has tripled its workforce to nearly 300 people. The majority of the company’s employees are located across its two Hayward sites, with a growing team in its New York City location.
