Barbara Howes

Barbara Howes serves as Chief People Officer of Eikon Therapeutics, leading all aspects of the Company’s people strategy, including talent, diversity, culture and employee engagement.

Prior to joining the Company in 2021, Barbara served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Pliant Therapeutics where she helped launch and scale the company to 100 employees. Before joining Pliant as a full-time employee in 2019, she served as their interim head of HR through her consulting practice in which she focused on launching new biotechnology companies including, Maze Therapeutics and Ambys Medicines.

Barbara led the executive and organization development, learning, diversity, and workforce research teams at Genentech from 2008-2014. While at Genentech, Barbara and her team provide customized solutions in support of business goals, executive development initiatives, and cultural imperatives.

Prior to Genentech, Barbara spent 12 years at The Walt Disney Company. While at Disney she held talent management positions at The Disney Stores, Walt Disney Imagineering, and Corporate, where she was the Vice President of Disney University.

Barbara received her Master of Business Administration, with an emphasis in Organization Behavior, from California Lutheran University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Brentwood, California.
